The domain name provider now gives users of Opera’s crypto web browser access to digital identities that are based on polygons. The metaverse news as well as the NFT news have both highlighted Polygon recently.
Unstoppable Domains is a company that sells crypto web domains. It is growing by adding new domains to the Web3 browser Opera.
In April 2021, Unstoppable made a deal with Opera to support its.crypto and.zil domains. Now, users will be able to use Polygon-based domain names like.nft,.wallet, and.x. Unstoppable will make it easier for people to access their digital identities online and let Opera crypto wallet owners use their domains to send and receive cryptocurrencies.
Sandy Carter, who is the executive vice president of Unstoppable Domains, says that the partnership will help the company support digital identities in more ways.
Carter said, “Opera has over 11 million users, so they’re huge, and the fact that they are a Web3 browser really enables us to jointly bring the power of digital identity to all of their users. We believe that utility is greater than hype, and this enables us to bring yet another form of utility to all of the users of Unstoppable.”
Opera is giving people who sign up with their Twitter accounts free.nft domains to help them get their digital identities set up.
In July, Unstoppable Domains raised $65 million in a Series A funding round. Since then, it has been establishing itself as a Web3 identity provider. In December, the company brought together the data providers Etherscan and Polyscan so that customers could follow blockchain data on Unstoppable’s domains. About a month ago, the company worked with the Ready Player Me metaverse platform to add avatars to users’ digital identities.
