Upland and FIFA have launched a multi-year partnership that enables the Upland community and football fans across the world to collect, trade, and own FIFA digital assets including game video highlights. The partnership aims to assist fans to understand better the metaverse and web3.
Fans will discover how to participate in an online community. During and between contests, Upland will conduct a variety of educational and fan-supporting events.
Upland will cooperate with FIFA to provide gamified experiences in the world’s largest open metaverse. For FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, a replica of the Lusail Stadium will be constructed near its actual location in Upland, along with a FIFA World CupTM themed village, stores, and showrooms.
Upland presents a limited number of surprise packages of varied rarities for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM. These packages comprise country-specific team crests, boots, jerseys, and historic Official World CupTM logos, posters, and mascots, allowing fans to create digital albums for all 32 teams.
Completing collections raises a user’s fan score, and those with the highest scores receive incentives like the Lusail Stadium in the metaverse. Other fundamental game elements include earning unique mementos of this year’s event, such as game footage.
There are 22 real-world communities in Upland where players may purchase and sell virtual properties with real-world addresses. Fans can now construct structures and display their FIFA World CupTM loyalty with national flags and FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM branded outdoor décor products. Fans may create up shops in their homes to sell their accumulated items to other players.
Upland’s Co-Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer, Dirk Lueth, feels that no other competition unites nations and people like the FIFA World CupTM. “We’re excited to create a multi-touch web3 experience that highlights fun, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community as the first of many opportunities in the future of FIFA World CupsTM, where fans can collect, own, and share a moment in history.”
Upland will celebrate the win alongside the rest of the world on December 18, 2022. Upland will name its first capital city after the winning nation, and elements of the metaverse replica of the stadiums, businesses, showrooms, and properties will be awarded to fans with the largest collections of digital assets and films.
