Samsung invests more than $35M in LatinSamsung confirmed devoting $35 million to metaverse projects aimed towards the Latin American market. The Korean electronics giant deems the campaign essential for attracting and connecting with young Latin American audiences.
The expansion of Samsung’s metaverse activities is important to achieving its marketing growth aim in Latin America, the company believes. Anita Caerols, the head of corporate citizenship and marketing at Samsung Electronics Chile, acknowledged that the incorporation of metaverse activities is crucial for attracting the virtual reality audience to the company’s global digital push. Caerols noted that metaverse initiatives coincide with Samsung’s concrete desire to connect with young Latin American consumers’ preference for virtual reality.
Caerols expressed confidence that the implementation of a fully immersive platform in Latin America is consistent with Samsung’s future marketing strategy. She noted that it is prudent to investigate incorporating digital natives into the electronics industry through metaverse projects, as they organically extend popular social media platforms.
Caerols said that Samsung’s marketing vision guides the way money is spent on metaverse projects and efforts to find out if it will work in Latin America. The Samsung representative went on to say that businesses that want to talk to and connect with younger audiences and find new customers for their products should start using the metaverse right away. She said that businesses that want to reach out to new influencers must integrate metaverse projects.
Caerols agreed with the results of a Linkedin survey, which showed that more than 400 million people use metaverse channels and platforms every month, and 51% of them are younger than 13 years old. Because of this realization, Samsung is now focusing on metaverse-oriented products to win over Gen Alpha and Gen Z, who are more likely to be used to these platforms.
Samsung boosted Interest in Metaverse Ecosystem
Samsung’s interest in metaverse projects in Latin America is in line with what the electronics company has been doing in the virtual ecosystem. In October, Samsung started House of Sam so that people could use the decentralland experience by interacting virtually with products they already owned.
In early July, Samsung said that it would use Roblox to start a metaverse experience called Space Tycoon. The project makes it possible for people to use the space station. Through the metaverse initiative, developers can use available parts to make Samsung products. America-focused metaverse project
