Mitsubishi, Fujitsu and other Tech companies to create ‘Japan Metaverse Economic Zone’

The pact aims to “update Japan through the power of games” and build the foundation for an open metaverse.

The infrastructure for an open metaverse is being built by several significant Japanese technology, manufacturing, and financial companies to further the country’s Web3 goal. This is fantastic metaverse news from Japan.

In a press release issued on Monday, the IT services provider Fujitsu announced that it is working with nine other organizations, including the carmaker Mitsubishi and the multinational bank Mizuho, to build Ryugukoku (TBD), an interoperable metaverse structure that will be used to develop the “Japan Metaverse Economic Zone.”

The metaverse alliance aims to assist in creating the foundation necessary for businesses to take advantage of Web3 marketing, work reform, and customer experience efforts. A virtual environment called Ryugukoku (TBD) will be used to link users to various Web3 services produced by businesses and governmental organizations.

Additionally, the platform will feature “Auto-Learning Avatars,” which compile user data and offer a customized metaverse experience. Users can construct gamified metaverse experiences with the “Pegasus World Kit,” and its “Multi-Magic Passport” offers identification and payment options to promote interoperability inside the metaverse.

The national agenda of Japan has been seeking to include Web3 technologies. The nation will invest in digital transformation services, like as non-fungible tokens (NFT) and the metaverse, according to Prime Minister Fumio Kishia’s announcement in October. To assist government entities in entering Web3, the nation’s Digital Ministry announced intentions to establish a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) in November.
