The alleged screenshots show a Microsoft Web3 wallet that supports non-custodial crypto and NFTs and is built into Edge. This is amazing metaverse news that could be announced by Microsoft.
Reports claim that Microsoft is working on adding a Web3 wallet that works with cryptocurrencies and nonfungible tokens (NFTs) to its Edge web browser.
Albacore, who documents software and sometimes leaks information, posted on Twitter on March 17 what it said were screenshots of Edge’s user interface (UI) showing the early stages of the company’s new Web3 wallet.
“Newest in the gauntlet of questionable upcoming Microsoft Edge features, a crypto wallet not really sure how to feel about this kind of thing being baked into the default browser,” Albacore said disappointedly.

The first picture looks like an introduction page for the Edge wallet. On it, Microsoft seems to say, “we encourage you to test our first Web3 wallet and provide candid feedback along the journey.”
If this is true, Microsoft will not have access to your passwords or recovery keys, and the wallet will be “integrated in Edge” instead of a browser extension.
The screenshots show how to trade, send, and buy crypto assets. Coinbase and Web3 infrastructure provider MoonPay are shown as integrated “platforms that help you purchase and deposit crypto to your wallet.”
When it comes to NFTs, the Interface is simple: “browse different marketplaces to find your first NFT, as you build your collection of NFTs, we’ll organize them here.”
Microsoft’s likely move is another recent attempt to greatly improve Edge’s services and features, which have usually been less popular than rivals like Google Chrome and Apple Safari.
As part of new updates to its Bing and Edge browsers, Microsoft announced on February 7 that AI-powered search engines and ChatGPT will be combined using OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
