The Japanese city of Toda, Saitama, developed a metaverse-schooling service to encourage pupils to attend courses, particularly those living distant from school.
The metaverse education service selected by the city of Toda enables students to navigate the campus and learn in virtual classrooms. NHK confirmed that pupils must obtain permission from their particular school principals in order to participate in metaverse schooling.
In FY 2021, government data revealed that 244,940 elementary and junior high school students in Japan were absent for at least 30 days. While the youngster has not attended school in over two years, they expressed interest in playing tag and other outside games with friends.

Fukuoka’s mayor, Soichiro Takashima, confirmed the city’s desire to lead the Web3 initiative, stating:
“We have to do in the context of Web3 what large companies did for the world when Japan was strong.”
Sota Watanabe, the creator of Astar Network, stated that he intends to operate closely with Fukuoka City to recruit additional developers and businesses.
