MFE-Mediaforeurope, the largest commercial broadcaster in Italy, stated on Wednesday that its unit Mediaset has teamed up with Meta Platforms, the owner of Facebook, to tackle online piracy.
Under the multi-year deal, Mediaset will partner with Meta to develop a set of tools and systems to secure the copyrighted information, including live broadcasts, of its subsidiary Reti televisive Italiane (RTI).
Meta will also instruct and assist RTI in using the ‘Rights Manager’ tool, which will allow the Italian corporation to authorize, manage, and secure its content.
