A new survey from Morning Consult found that Meta (META) is the brand that is growing the fastest among adults in the U.S.
Meta, the company that owns social media sites like Facebook and Instagram, is especially popular with Gen Xers and Baby Boomers, as shown by a 6.5% increase in the number of consumers who said they might buy from the brand between January and October 2022.
Joanna Piacenza, head of industry intelligence at Morning Consult, told Yahoo Finance Live, “What’s interesting about Meta is that it’s up against two really strong forces.” “A brand won’t do well if it’s linked to Facebook, which has a bad reputation, and if its CEO is very public” (video above).
A new study from Morning Consult shows that Meta (META) is the fastest-growing brand among U.S. adults, even though the company has had a rough year.
Meta, the company that owns social media sites like Facebook and Instagram, is especially popular with Gen Xers and Baby Boomers. From January to October 2022, the number of customers who said they might buy from the brand went up by 6.5%.
“What’s interesting about Meta is it’s really fighting against two really strong elements — an association with Facebook, which does not have a very warm public opinion, and a CEO that’s very public, which, according to our research, doesn’t do well for a brand,” (video above).
At the Meta booth at the ninth Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles, someone is wearing a virtual reality headset.
Piacenza says that its rise in popularity is due to “greater awareness and interest” in the metaverse as well as the success of its rebranding. More companies have said they want to put money into virtual reality.
She said, “You can’t think of the metaverse without speaking about Meta.”
