Two months after its debut, OpenAI’s popular chatbot reportedly drew in 100 million monthly active users in January, according to a UBS study published on Wednesday. With such rapid expansion, it has become the most successful app of its kind.
The report found that on average there were 13 million daily visitors to ChatGPT in the month of January. There were two times as many people using the service in January as there were in December.
UBS analysts stated in a note that “In 20 years following the internet space, we cannot recall a faster ramp in a consumer internet app.”
Sensor Tower reports that it only took nine months for TikTok to reach 100 million users following its global launch, while Instagram needed about two and a half years.
