Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud business of e-commerce giant Amazon (AMZN), is hiring personnel to help it acquire more Web3 clients. AI leads technological and metaverse news.
A job posting published a week ago on its LinkedIn profile seeks a “Senior GTM Specialist, Web3” for its “Web3 Go-To-Market (GTM) team, which is responsible for expanding the number of Web3 workloads on AWS.”
According to its website, AWS has created tools for blockchain companies that want to operate either a “centralized ledger database that maintains an immutable and cryptographically verifiable record of transactions” or a “multi-party, fully managed blockchain network that helps eliminate intermediaries.”
As mentioned in the website, a fifth of all Ethereum nodes are hosted on AWS servers.
Earlier this week, Blockworks reported, citing anonymous sources, that Amazon is planning a non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace. China’s IT titans Ant Group and Tencent have already launched their own NFT marketplaces, but Tencent has discontinued sales on its Huanhe platform after only a year.
TechCrunch reports that AWS will hold 34% of the worldwide cloud infrastructure market in the third quarter of 2022.
