After winning the World Cup, the Argentine football league makes a great partnership

Through a new metaverse cooperation, Argentina’s World Cup victory in Qatar is already bearing dividends for its national football association.

A licensing arrangement between the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and the Silicon Valley company will allow the country’s professional soccer league to join Upland’s virtual world for the first time.

The agreement will see the Argentine Football Association (AFA) transition the Liga Profesional de Ftbol (LPF) to Upland’s metaverse platform, enhancing fan engagement between Argentine football fans, clubs, and players.

A range of Argentine football digital artifacts, including teams, clubs, players, tickets, game highlights, historical moments, and other special incentives, are advertised as gamified opportunities.

Additionally, the relationship is a first for Upland, as it offers exclusive ownership of highlight films of LPF matches. As consumers buy, sell, and trade licensed digital assets, the sale of a variety of non-fungible tokens is expected to generate a new revenue stream for Argentina’s premier league.

Upland will also enable users to build a virtual business to resell LPF digital collectibles in user-owned and operated businesses on virtual properties. The objective of the metaverse platform is to give digital land ownership, the creation of digital assets, and a virtual economy.

The arrangement with the Argentine Football Association follows Upland’s partnerships with FC Porto and FIFA. Upland offered a licensed digital archive for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, which included highlights from the last recent event.
